Get ready for a beach and jungle paradise adventure! Spend 10 days experiencing the amazing diversity of landscapes the Dominican Republic has to offer. Start your journey in the beautiful mountains of the Cordillera Central in the town of Jarabacoa, colloquially known as the "Land of the Eternal Spring". Go horseback riding to a stunning waterfall and hike through the foothills of the tallest mountains of the Carribbean. After your days in the mountains head northeast to the paradisiacal peninsula of Samaná, a land of lush jungle and hidden beaches. Visit an emerald green waterfall and visit some of the country's most stunning beaches. Finally hop on a boat, cross the Samana bay and reach Los Haitises National Park, a protected resevoir of endemic wildlife where you will see paintings of the fascinating indigenous inhabitants of the island, the Taínos.

Welcome to Santo Domingo!  Drop off your bags at the hotel, and head out for your first night in the Colonial Zone where the beautiful historic walled quarter and UNESCO World Heritage site are filled with rich culture of food and music. Beautiful old colonial buildings have been converted into coffee shops, restaurants, and community arts spaces, and the weather allows for a blossoming bohemian scene at night where the La Zona Colonial’s plazas and squares become centers for artistic, folkloric and cultural expressions. Welcome to Quisqueya!

Get ready for a beautiful drive to Jarabacoa where you will settle into your eco-lodge nestled in the heart of the “Dominican Alps”. Jarabacoa is known as “the land of eternal spring” because of its temperate climate and fertile land. A great portion of the agriculture of the Dominican Republic is grown here.

With the wind in your hair you will ride a horse to Salto Baiguate, a beautiful 82 foot waterfall surrounded by nature. This magnificent ride will take you through lush vegetation, tropical surroundings and villages where you can see some aspects of Dominican culture. After taking a refreshing bath at the Baiguate Waterfall, you pass by La Melaza and enjoy some fresh fruit smoothies at this great localspot.

Have you ever rested on a hammock at the top of a mountain overlooking beautiful coffee fields? Today is that day! After an early morning breakfast, head to the charming town of Manabao, nestled in the foothills of Pico Duarte, the highest point in the Caribbean. You will fall in love with the trails as you walk through Antonio Bermudez National Park, taking in the beautiful nature of this mountainous region. You will soon be hungry so enjoy a proper and hearty Dominican lunch before we head back down to Jarabacoa. Here you will have all your questions answered about how the locals produce and cultivate coffee beans.

Get ready for paradise! Drive northeast for about four hours to reach the Samaná Peninsula, a unique part of the country and home to some of the most picturesque beaches in the Americas. After you settle into your eco lodge you will go to Playa Rincón, a 3-mile stretch of pristine turquoise waters and fine white sands flanked by lush green hills. There is nothing like spending all afternoon relaxing at Playa Rincón.

Zoom through beautiful blue waters with the wind in your hair. Today you will take a thrilling speed boat excursion to the beautiful Cayo Levantado. On this stunning beach you will have a delicious beachside lunch. Go swimming, snorkeling or just kick back and relax in paradise! After a full day of fun in the sun you will be ready to head back to the hotel and have some free time to try one of the local restaurants.

Get ready for an adventure! After a hearty breakfast, head to the heart of Samaná where you will go on a short hike to the beautiful El Limón Waterfall. Reaching El Limón waterfall is an adventure that takes you on a 2.5km journey through thick forest down lush hilly terrain. Native plants grow abundantly here in the wild, like the royal palm tree, and pineapples.

The most amazing birds will be all around you like the beautiful Hispaniolan woodpecker, and the Broad-billed tody. Once at the falls, marvel at the beauty of El Limón’s tumbling cascade–dropping 40m (130ft) from the top of Sierra de Samaná. Cool off from the journey in the freshwater emerald pool beneath the falls, and take in the surrounding wild, jungle landscape and gushing sounds of El Limón.

Try to spot as many dolphins as you can as you make your way to Paraíso Caño Hondo, a remarkable eco-hotel built into the rock formations of the Haitises National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the crown jewels of the country’s national park system. Get ready to spend the afternoon touring Los Haitises by boat, you’ll see unique limestone rock formations, el Cayo de los Pájaros or “Bird Key”.

This amazing site is graced by the magnificent pelicans, and also has two caverns with fascinating pictographs and petroglyphs created by the native population, the Taínos. Stop for a swim in the beautiful remote beaches before navigating the mangroves on your way back to Caño Hondo.

Get ready for some more stunning natural beauty! This morning will be a beautiful guided trail walk/hike in Los Haitises National Park. Your guide will lead you through the lush forests where you will spot birds, butterflies and blooms along the way! Keep your eyes peeled to spot the endangered Ridgway’s Hawk, the Antillean Piculet, the Hispaniolan Woodpecker, the Hispaniolan Emerald, as well as pelicans, frigate birds, herons, and many more majestic birds in flight over the park’s extensive landscape. In the afternoon, make sure you enjoy the wonderful pools and relax in the quiet of the canyon.

Take a guided walking tour or wander on your own with some recommendations from your guide. Today is a perfect day to buy a few souvenirs for yourself or loved ones back home.
